Traditional Thanksgiving Stuffing Recipe

Classic Stuffing with Sausage and Chestnuts.

Old Fashioned Thanksgiving Stuffing ๐Ÿฆƒ

This simple yet oh so yummy stuffing recipe will be the highlight of your Thanksgiving dinner.

Here’s everything you will need to make this family favorite stuffing!

Ingredients:

2 bags Pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoned Cubed Stuffing.

3 lb bag of yellow onions.

2 tubes of Jones All natural original pork sausage.

2 bags of  Galil chestnuts (or any brand you prefer or of course you can roast your own)

1 lb of salted butter

10 cups of College Inn chicken broth (or any brand you like or of course homemade chicken stock)

First empty both bags of cubed stuffing into a large mixing bowl.

Next sautรฉ the onions in the pound of butter until golden brown.

In a separate pan fry up both tubes of Jones sausage.  Crumble it as it cooks and let cool on paper towels when done to drain excess grease.

Chop up all the chestnuts.
However course or fine as you like.  I usually do a mix.

Heat up the chicken broth.

Start adding everything except the chicken broth to your bowl of cubed stuffing.
It doesn’t matter if things aren’t hot.  The only thing you definitely need hot is your chicken broth.  The heat from the broth will help everything ‘mush’ together and dissolve the stuffing cubes.

Once all the ingredients are added in the bowl you can start adding the hot chicken broth.  Keep adding the hot chicken broth and mixing everything together until you get the consistency that you like.  You may not need all 10 cups of chicken broth but I always like to have enough.

Now you’ll take your stuffing and place it all in a roasting pan.  Cover tightly and pierce some venting holes in the tin foil. Place in refrigerator.

If you’re making this the same day you plan on serving it then skip putting it in the fridge and follow the directions below.

You’re pretty much done except for heating it up and getting it a little golden brown on top.

I always make this the day before Thanksgiving and then just have to heat it up before serving.

Thanksgiving morning I try to remember to take the stuffing out of the refrigerator about 1/2 hr before I need it to go in the oven.

Place in oven still covered with tinfoil for approximately 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

After 45 minutes remove tinfoil.  Stir mixture around.  Put back in oven uncovered for approximately 30 minutes or until golden brown on top.  You can raise the temp of the oven to 400 degrees if you like it really nicely browned.

Happy Thanksgiving

Grilled Brie and Grape Quesadilla Recipe

Lite Summer Meals.

Grilled Brie Cheese and Grape
Quesadillas!

Summer is in Full Swing!
Here is a quick and easy meal for you to enjoy on these steamy summer nights!

This would be perfect to enjoy on those long hot nights while you sit outside with a glass of wine.

First gather your supplies.  It couldn't be easier.  All you need is a package of soft tortillas (any kind or size that you like) a bunch of grapes (again any kind you like, I always seem to buy the green grapes but the red work just as well) and of course some soft brie cheese.  Brie cheese can be expensive, but you really only need a little bit for each quesadilla.

Next put some oil or non-stick spray in your frying pan and threw one tortilla in the pan.  Then slice up some of the brie and place on the hot tortilla.  While that is getting hot, you will cut approximately 10 grapes in half for each tortilla that you will be making.  Once the cheese has started to melt a little you can add your grapes.  I usually only put the grapes on one side so that it’s easier to fold the tortilla.

You can now fold your tortilla and give it a gentle 'smush'.  To me the key to good grilled food is all in the 'smush'.  You want to press down firmly so that everything melts together and the tortilla becomes nice and flat, but don't press down to hard or all your grapes will escape out from inside.

Once you have both sides nice and golden brown you can take the quesadilla out of the pan and start on your next one.  I like to let them cool a little before you try to cut them or again the cheese and grapes might try to escape out the sides.

That's it.  These are so simple and good.  I warn you, these are so addictive.  I like them so much the way they are that I never came up with a dipping sauce for them.  If any of you guys have any suggestions for a good dipping sauce or tips to make these even better, I would love to hear your comments!

Thanks so much and Enjoy!!!

2022 Organization Challenge

 21 Day Organization Challenge

21 Day Organization Challenge!

2022 Organization Challenge

The holidays are over and 2022 has begun.
It's that time of year that we all swear we are going to get our lives in order, to start a diet, exercise more and clean our homes.  Each year I start of the year doing this challenge that I came up with almost 10 years ago.   Certain areas I have managed to keep organized but certain areas like the garage and my handbag constantly need to be reorganized.  The areas of my house that are organized are because I spent a little time getting them in order and now each time I use something in that area I find it very easy to put it back in its place.  I also find I get nothing done when the task seems too large.  I need to just do a little at a time.

So ladies, I came up with a simple 21 day challenge of easy organization tasks, that when completed will give us all the organized home we dream of.

I started us off with some simple and quick organization chores so that we don't feel overwhelmed.  I figured we could knock off some easy ones like the medicine cabinet or our handbag before we got to the really involved ones like the garage or if your a crafter like me, the craft supplies.
So ladies, lets get our organization checklist ready and lets plan to finally get organized in 2022.  The challenge is only 21 days so we have no excuses!

Good luck and I would love to hear how your challenge is going!!!
